Vision Treatment and Research Foundation (VTAR) was founded in 2009 in Fullerton, California as a non-profit by Serge Bronstein. Serge had first-hand experience with keratoconus, a curvature of the cornea, having been diagnosed with it in 2006. Serge had to go through several optometrists and many different contact lenses, before finding the optimal RGP lenses to manage his condition. Luckily, he only has to wear lenses on one of his eyes, and his condition is managable with lenses.

A lot of other people are not as lucky. Serge founded VTAR to help spread awareness of eye diseases, specifically keratoconus, to fund research to find cures and to help low income patients afford quality medical care.

Since founding, VTAR has had a stellar record, with over 90% of donations going to its charitable cause.
